Ghee is clarified butter and is commonly used in Indian food. It has a high smoke point and is a good substitute for oil and butter in many recipes.

It is available in many grocery stores, Indian stores, and even some Costco locations. You can also make ghee at home from store-bought butter or from scratch using milk cream from grass-fed cows.

You can store ghee at room temperature in glass jars and it is shelf stable for almost a year.
