Contact lenses at Costco any good?

After 15 years and being tired of fogged glasses due to the masks, I am back in the game.
I was wondering if the assortment at Costco is any good or if I should go to Clearly or other shops.
Are there any models you can recommend?
Also, is the fitting service any good at Costco? Is it the in-house optometrist doing that or just store associates?

You can pay extra for in store optometrist to do contact exam. But actual fitting is done by the Costco optical dept. They'll give you a trial pair to sample. They do quick vision test and check out fitting. They'll ask you to wander the store for like 15 minutes and then they'll check again how it feels. If you like how it feels, they'll let you order more contacts. If unopen and box is still good condition, can return if you change your mind after. But after you find a contact you like, no issues saving some money by purchasing online

Are you asking about general purchasing of contact lenses from Costco, or more specifically the Kirkland Signature contact lenses?

Contact lenses are contact lenses, whether you order them from your optometrist, or any other optician eye glasses store. They'll take your Rx, and then optician will double check, and then they'll test fit you. You order them and you pick them up in 1-2wks time (sometimes less) if they don't have them in stock.
As for the Kirkland Signature line, I've never tried them, but to my understanding, they're manufactured by CooperVision.

I have a prescription for glasses from one of the costco optometrist 15 months ago.
Isn’t the prescription for contact lenses, when you already have a glasses prescription, a money grab?

I was generally wondering if the assortment Costco has is a good range. I know some products I would never buy at Costco due to the lack of variety.

Don't quote me, but I believe the Rx for glasses are different than contact lenses. I believe they can convert the values.

Used to buy my contact lenses from Costco for about ~3 years until at my new optometrist's eye exam, they actually beat Costco's prices at their standard rates. Would recommend shopping around.

At least as of November 2020, Costco was selling one-year supply of B&L Ultra Astigamatism (monthlies) for $273 ($300 minus $27 rebate), versus my optometrist offered the exact same one year supply of the same lenses plus 30-day supply of dailies from B&L for $260, with free shipping.

For what it’s worth, my optometrist has cheaper contact lens pricing than Costco. Costco has free fitting exams. From what I understand it’s done by an optician at Costco, hence the usage of a term “contact lens fitter”.

Also, don’t bother with Clearly or other online shops. After their fees and shipping it comes out to be more expensive than local optical stores or Costco.

I came here to find out if costco sold toric lenses for astigmatisim ... your information is very helpful. I'll continue with online ordering. I wear proclear sphere and have ordered from Contact lens king the last few times. I always search out the best deal, usually a year supply for around $100 which compares to the daily Daysoft but I have trouble with one eye probably because they don't do for astigmatism.

They are well trusted but not always the best price!
