LIVE! UFC 300 Results, Full ‘Prelims’ Play-By-Play (2024)

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to stage its most talent-rich pay-per-view (PPV) event ever TONIGHT (Sat., April 13, 2024) with an absolutely loaded card from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UFC 300’s main event will feature the 205-pound undisputed championship showdown between newly-minted Light Heavyweight roost-ruler, Alex Pereira, putting his belt on the line for the first time ever against former division kingpin, Jamahal Hill, who never lost the 205-pound strap inside the Octagon. In UFC 300’s co-main event, reigning two-time women’s Strawweight champion, Zhang Weili, will defend her title against her fellow countrywoman from China (and No. 2-ranked contender) Yan Xiaonan. And Justin Gaethje will eschew an earned 155-pound title shot to defend his “BMF” belt against former Featherweight G.O.A.T., Max Holloway, in “The Peoples Main Event” one fight prior. Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic

Round one: Trading low kicks to start. Lunging hook from Prochazka. Rakic lands low kicks, whiffs on some nasty right hands. One minute in. 1-2 from Rakic, sneaky right hand. Prochazka walks into some solid counters, eats another calf kick. Rakic moving well, attacking the lead leg whenever Prochazka steps in. Nasty one two minutes in. Rakic chewing up both legs. Two minutes to go.

Straight left by Prochazka, who’s sporting a cut by his right eye. Hard counter right lands for Rakic. Sharp 1-2. Prochazka not pulling the trigger. One minute to go. Hard right cross by Rakic. Prochazka catches him leaning with a head kick and they exchange on the fence. When Rakic ties up, Prochazka clubs him with a gnarly right hand but can’t chase him down with a flying knee. Heavy combo by Rakic in return. Prochazka ties up at the bell. 10-9 Rakic.

Round two: Hard right cross from Rakic to start. Prochazka tries a head kick, absorbs another clean right hand. Calf kicks from Rakic. Huge cross in center cage. Counter jab a minute in. They trade leg kicks. Prochazka tries a head kick, then blasts Rakic with a clean right cross. Rakic tries to fire back with heavy artillery but can’t land clean. Head kick to left hand from Prochazka two minutes in and they slug it out. Heavy shots from both mean. Prochazka just misses with a head kick and absorbs some clean shot, then comes back with a 1-2 that discombobulates Rakic and hunts him down with some vicious shots. Rakic tries to fire back but his legs are gone and Prochazka hurls him to the mat, then takes half guard and unloads heat until the ref steps in.

Final result: Prochazka def. Rakic by TKO (punches) — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!

Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling

Round one: Sterling pressuring early, firing kicks. High-low combo. Jab from Kattar to answer a low kick. Constant stance switches from Sterling, who blocks a head kick a minute in. He shoots, denied. Overhand left lands clean, no dice on the head kick. Not a ton from Kattar so far. Two minutes in. Sterling gets in on a single-leg, and while Kattar manages to pop back up at first, Sterling grabs a body lock and drags him down again. Kattar trying to stiff-arm and use the cage to stand but Sterling has his hands locked. Two minutes to go.

Sterling grapevining a leg with Kattar on one knee. Kattar gets to his feet, gets muscled back down. Back up, back down. One hook in for Sterling against the fence. Kattar makes it to his feet and separates, then blocks an awkward spinning back fist. Sterling follows with a body kick with a minute to go. Side kick to the knee. Another weird spin attempt. Kattar stalking, denies a level change. Sterling immediately shoots again and bundles him to the mat, whacking him with punches until the bell. 10-9 Sterling.

Round two: Hard calf kicks from Sterling and Kattar’s feeling it. Sterling shoots and trips Kattar down after a brief struggle. Kattar stuck on one knee against the fence as Sterling tries to pull out that foot a minute in. Kattar gets to his feet, Sterling still attached. Two minutes in. Sterling keeping the body lock, landing knees to the thigh. They separate with two minutes to go.

Solid flurry by Sterling against the fence. Kattar trying to walk him down, eats a solid body shot and gives up a double-leg. Side control with a minute to go. He rides it out until the bell. 10-9 Sterling.

Round three: Kattar just seems out of ideas as Sterling shoots in and nearly takes his back. Knees to the thigh from the body lock. Kattar stands and tries to break the body lock. More knees a minute in. Kattar tries to take his back, ends up on his butt. Two minutes in. Sterling settles into full guard. Side control with two minutes to go.

Sterling landing knees to the thigh. Kattar scrambles up and Sterling damn near piledrives him Belcher-Cote style, but Kattar manages to take the impact on his back and close his half guard. One minute to go. Kattar trying to use the underhook to stand and nearly gives up a guillotine. Sterling lands hammerfists as Kattar tries to scramble. Ugly fight but that should be a clean sweep on the scorecards for Sterling in his Featherweight debut. 10-9 Sterling.

Final result: Sterling def. Kattar by unanimous decision

Kayla Harrison vs. Holly Holm

Round one: Quick jab from Harrison to start. Inside low kick, snap kick to the body. She tries a head kick and Holm ties up, then counters a hip toss to sweep into top position. Harrison works her way to her feet a minute in. Holm tries a trip and Harrison counters to land on top in half guard. Heavy right hands. She switches to elbows, then looks for the back. She pins one of Holm’s hands and goes to work with punches. Monstrous elbows. Two minutes to go.

Harrison stands over her and drops more punches, then a pair of hard elbows. More elbows. Holm lands an elbow off her back and Harrison answers with a series of heavier ones with a minute to go. Harrison continues to drop shots until the bell. 10-9 Harrison.

Round two: Counter right from Harrison. Side kick from Holm. Harrison fires a head kick, looks for a double-leg, then grabs the front headlock. She briefly commits to a guillotine before putting her on the fence a minute in. Slick trip into half guard, then a move to mount. Holm gives up her back and Harrison locks up the RNC for the finish.

Final result: Harrison def. Holm by submission (rear naked choke) — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!

Sodiq Yusuff vs. Diego Lopes

Round one: Low kicks from Lopes. Stiff jab by Yusuff snaps his head back. Lopes responds in dramatic fashion, flooring Yusuff with an uppercut in the clinch. Yusuff somehow manages to work his way to the feet after Lopes hammers away, but more right hands in the clinch send him crashing right back down. Lopes moves to mount, then the back, unloading until the ref steps in.

Jalin Turner vs. Renato Moicano

Round one: Turner opens with hard front kicks to the body that visibly hurt Moicano. Moicano manages to tie up, and though the first takedown fails, the second puts him on top in half guard. One minute in. Moicano briefly gets mount, caught back in half guard. Short left hands from the top. Short elbows two minutes in. Heavier elbow. Turner trying to get something going off of his back but Moicano’s a step ahead. Two minutes to go.

Punches from Moicano, solid elbow. Turner manages to get to the fence, stand, and separate. Head kick blocked, body kick lands. Moicano looks for the body with a minute to go. After a long lull, Turner floors Moicano with a vicious left hand, but his attempt at a walk-off knockout allows Moicano to survive. 10-9 Turner.

Round two: Solid body kick from Moicano to start. Turner fights off a pair of takedowns, eating a knee as he does. 2-1 lands for him. Moicano pressuring, showing punches. Straight left by Turner. One minute in. Nice 1-2 by Moicano, then a clean double-leg into guard. He floats over Turner’s butterfly guard into mount. Solid punches. Two minutes in. Turner has quarter guard and an overhook. Moicano doing solid work, landing punches and hunting for an arm triangle.Nice elbows with two minutes to go.

Turner trying to use the fence to stand but can’t dislodge Moicano. Back to half guard. Moicano moves to mount once again and starts hammering until Turner shells up and forces the ref into action.

Jessica Andrade vs. Marina Rodriguez

Round one: Rodriguez firing the jab as Andrade looks for low kicks. Lots of movement from Rodriguez, Andrade stalking. One minute in. Front kick to low kick from Rodriguez, who eats another shot to the calf. Nice 1-2 and she avoids Andrade’s return hooks. Andrade answers some straight punches with heavy low kicks. Rodriguez is moving well and landing heavy shots, but Andrade’s walking through them to attack the calf. Two minutes in. Rodriguez slips throwing a front kick and Andrade settles on top in half guard, dropping hammerfists. Solid left hands. Rodriguez regains guard and Andrade stands over her. Two minutes to go.

Andrade tries a spinning guard pass but settles for dropping a solid shot from guard. Again she postures and this time she gets back to half guard. More hammerfists. She passes to side control with a minute to go. Rodriguez trying to fire knees off her back, then goes for a d’arce. Andrade pounds her body in response and pops her head free to work until the bell. 10-9 Andrade.

Round two: Rodriguez continuing to stick and move, Andrade again targeting the lead leg. Solid punches by Rodriguez, who walks into a left hook soon after. Vicious right cross that Andrade absorbs to continue her pursuit. One minute in. Another clean cross by Rodriguez, who glides away from a flurry in response. Andrade looks for the body. Clean 1-2 by Rodriguez. Two minutes in. Andrade lands a low kick after a lull. Low-high combo just misses. Another calf kick. Sharp 1-2 by Rodriguez and another cross behind it. 3-2. Four-piece with two minutes to go.

Rodriguez landing most of what she sends Andrade’s way. Andrade punches into the clinch and they trade on the break. More 1-2s from Rodriguez. Andrade walks through a heavy combo and starts throwing heat to mixed effect. One minute to go. Andrade finally finds the mark with a hard overhand right and goes on the attack, absorbing a heavy knee to club Rodriguez with clean haymakers. Andrade unloading against the fence but Rodriguez manages to tie up and land some knees before the bell. 10-9 Rodriguez.

Round three: Andrade firing low kicks to open the round. Rodriguez answers with a spinning back fist and blocks one in return. Rodriguez lands a running combo. One minute in. Both whiff on combinations, low kick by Andrade. Low kick to side kick. Rodriguez lands a rapid-fire combo upstairs, then another clean right cross. Rodriguez tries to push the issue and Andrade catches her on one leg with an overhand right, then dumps her to the mat. Rodriguez scrambles up and eats a clubbing left hook two minutes in before separating. Heavy exchanges in the center. Another cross by Rodriguez, cheeky back fist soon after. Andrade low kicks. She catches a knee with two minutes to go, but gets caught in a ninja choke.

Andrade pops her head free but eats a solid knee. Low kicks from Andrade. High-low combo. They trade right hands with a minute to go. Sharp combo by Rodriguez. Andrade seems to be struggling with the range, but suddenly floors Rodriguez with a low kick. Rodriguez scrambles up and fires heavy shots off the back foot. 10-9 Andrade.

Final result: Andrade def. Rodriguez by split decision

Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green

Round one: Miller starts things off with a low kick, eats a side kick and counter right in return. Fake kick to right hook by Green, who gets clipped by a counter left and runs away to reset. Solid right hook from Miller as Green continues to talk trash. One minute in. Miller head kick blocked. Sharp 1-2 by Green. Check hook after a glancing kick to the body, then a 2-1 two minutes in. Green has seemingly found his groove, cracking Miller with a pair of hard counters as Miller steps in. Nasty counter left to answer a low kick. 1-2. No dice on the wheel kick with two minutes to go.

Side kick from Green, who tries an axe kick and pops him with a jab. Body kick to 1-2, more combos in center cage. Counter right to answer a low kick. More sharpshooting with a minute to go. Miller lands a glancing counter left as Green tries to disengage. Green mixing the hands and kicks well, but as I type that, Miller hurts Green with a pair of heavy left hands. Green comes back with heavy artillery of his own, including a flying knee in the waning seconds. 10-9 Green.

Round two: Green mixing snap kicks and straight punches to very good effect. Good exchange in the center, brutal right hand by Green a minute in. Green waving Miller on, absorbs a heavy left hand. Body kick lands again, Miller answers with a low kick. Counter 1-2 from Green, then a lead right and snap kick. 2-1. Two minutes in. Green stalking with his hands down, picking his shots. Miller tries a head kick, eats a combo and straight left. Snap kicks and jabs piling up for Green. Miller really struggling to deal with the range and pace of Green. Two minutes to go.

Miller’s cut bad on the right side of his face. Clubbing right hook by Green. Right hand to the body, clean jab. Low kicks from Miller, combo by Green. Miller’s a bloody mess with a minute to go. 1-2 from Green appears to hurt Miller, who gets his bearings back but continues to eat long kicks and punches. 10-9 Green.

Round three: Green staying patient. Right hook from Miller after eating a pair of kicks, Green answers with a clean counter right. Green 1-2, Miller counter left a minute in. Heavy three-piece by Green, clubbing lefts form Miller in return. Green getting the better of things by a huge margin. 2-1 and here comes the blood again. Thudding low kick from Miller, heavy punching volleys from Green two minutes in. The range and variety from Green are eating Miller alive. Miller eating a ton of shots, tries to come back with an overhand left. He’s going for it, landing a heavy left hand and tying up. Green reverses against the fence with two minutes to go.

They separate. Miller lands a solid shot to the body. His face is an absolute wreck but Green’s still taking his time. Hard counters with a minute to go. Green motions for him to trade in the center, then absolutely rocks Miller’s world with a southpaw 1-2. Green clubs him to the mat and sprawls on a shot, then goes back to punishing with strikes as Miller somehow gets to his feet. One final slam and some heavy ground-and-pound fail to put Miller away. 10-8 Green.

Final result: Green def. Miller via unanimous decision — RECAP!

Cody Garbrandt vs. Deiveson Figueiredo

Round one: Heavy low kicks from Garbrandt to start. He tries to sweep the leg but falls short, Figueiredo whiffs on his right hand in return. Another good low kick by Garbrandt. One minute in. Counter two-piece to answer a low kick from Figueiredo, then a clash of heads as they trade at close range. Reactive shot from Figueiredo, no dice. Garbrandt tries a Saenchai kick and nearly gets booted in the face for it. Two minutes in. Figueiredo pressuring, eats a low kick. He’s falling short with most of his shots so far. More low kicks from Garbrandt. Two minutes to go.

Lots of feints from both men. Garbrandt clips him with a right cross, then bails when Figueiredo looks for an armbar. 3-2 again from Garbrandt. One minute to go. Shifting left hook lands for Figueiredo, his first good connection of the fight. Snap kick downstairs, quick exchange near the fence. Figueiredo shoots, scrambles, cracks Garbrandt with a short elbow on the break. 10-9 Garbrandt.

Round two: Figueiredo waves him on to trade, then grabs the body lock and takes him down into half guard. Potential arm triangle. Garbrandt gives up his back a minute in and Figueiredo flattens him out, then switches to an arm triangle. Figueiredo steps over into side control and tries to adjust his grip. Two minutes in. Garbrandt showing impressive resilience as Figueiredo tries to tighten it up. Figueiredo loses it, but maintains mount despite Garbrandt’s attempt to scramble. Two minutes to go.

Shoulder strikes from Figueiredo as Garbrandt tries to hold him close. Great balance and control from Figueiredo so far but not a ton of damage. Garbrandt tries to explode to his feet and Figueiredo latches onto his back, steadily working his forearm under Garbrandt’s chin to force the tap.

Final result: Figueiredo def. Garbrandt by submission (rear-naked choke) — WATCH HIGHLIGHTS!
