Remember a few months back there was talk of a grand bargain... That the Supreme Court will allow Trump to remain on the Colorado ballot in exchange for a knock back on the claim of presidential immunity... by not taking up the case. Then when the Supreme Court did take up the case surprise, surprise, then it was surely the Court will quickly rule against Trump...and then the hearing was set at a very leisurely 6 weeks out..Few months back Trump claimed ' my' emphasis on the word my, Supreme Court will never allow that to happen to me...So now that Donald's Supreme Court has obliged with putting paid to any hope of the case being heard on this side of the election, ( of course 45th have done nothing wrong this delay strategy does not mean he has done anything wrong), will those who care for democracy wake up that nothing is coming to save the day, need to get out and vote....

With the current epidemic of violence against women both locally and globally, the role of tech and AI in making coercive control worse is highlighted in the Kaspersky 2023 State of Stalkerware report on how digital violence has increased.Of surveyed participants, 31,000 mobile users worldwide were subjected to stalkerware, clandestine surveillance software utilized by domestic abusers to monitor their victims. Stalkerware typically masquerades as legitimate anti-theft or parental control apps on smartphones, tablets, and computers, but in reality, they are very different. Installed – usually without consent and notification of the person being tracked – they provide a perpetrator with the means to gain control over a victim’s life. Stalkerware capabilities vary depending on the application. The spectrum of abuse is diverse, with over one-third (39%) of respondents worldwide reporting experiences of violence or abuse from a current or previous partner. Of those questioned for the report, 23% of people worldwide revealed they have encountered some form of online stalking from someone they were recently dating. Furthermore, overall 40% reported experiencing stalking or suspecting being stalked. On the other side, 12% admitted to installing or setting parameters on their partner's phone, while nine percent acknowledged pressuring their partner to install monitoring apps. The increasing use of AI and related tech, with use of deep fakes combined with Stalkerware ( which is rarely used alone) will only further deepen the use of digital measures to exert coercive control. This scourge is another reason why the use of AI is banal and the ill uses will always far outweigh benefits derived from use. https://lnkd.in/eZG_uRbU

Couple of telling comments in jest by comedian Colin Jost at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. " Based on the swing state poll results I am honored to host the final White House Correspondents' Dinner...."' A summary of the current polling - one candidate is convicted for bank fraud and has to pay damages in a court case for rape and is currently on trial in a criminal case related to hushing up an affair with a p*rn star and passing gas to stay wake in Court and the polls are tight .....'Lack of decency and empathy is the biggest challenge for democracy. https://lnkd.in/gQXYzga4

Military coups and assassinations of political opponents ordered by presidents are official acts...not indictable unless impeachment happens...This is where the discussion in the highest court in the land , on what is expected from Presidents, has descended to....In the Beer Hall Putsch trial the judges were very enamoured by the oratory skills of Herr Hitler...Violent coup attempts to hold onto power is no big deal for the male conservative justices of the superior court...Of course Clarence Thomas husband of aka Ginni Thomas who was actively involved in Jan 6th saw no need to recuse himself from the proceedings...And as per Justice Alito, if presidents who engaged in overturning elections knew they would be prosecuted when they are no longer president, then they are more likely to hold onto power because of that and hence to preserve democracy they should not be prosecuted ......this is a person whose judgements impact the lives of millions ....

A historic dark day - a very significant nail in the coffin of democracy has gone in. The right wing Supreme Court through it's deliberations on the question of Presidential immunity has given enough indications that there is zero chance of the January 6th trial happening before the elections. And there very well might be a ruling that provides Presidents immunity to do any act criminal or not if is an official act....And as per Trump lawyers a President ordering a military coup is not a indictable official act without impeachment .....and arranging fake electors is also perfectly legal act for Presidents as per his counsel....Why care ? Well if the USA becomes a banana republic get ready for a world where democracy ceases to exist - we are well headed on that path. https://lnkd.in/gf9ihwbY

For this Anzac Day, our team at Strategic Business Alliance Ltd is sharing the story of lady Noor Inayat Khan .Noor was born in Moscow and had an Indian dad and US mum and was living in France. When France fell in 1940 - she fled to Britain with thousands and joined the British SOE and was the first woman from the UK to be deployed in occupied France in 1943.Soon after she arrived in occupied France to operate as a wireless operator, a large number of her fellow agents were captured by the Nazis and Noor was the only operator left in Paris and surrounds for many months, successfully evading capture by the Gestapo and aiding the resistance effort. In late 1944 her luck ran out when a French double agent betrayed her and she was captured and taken to the Dachau concentration camp in Germany. She was brutally tortured by the SS and did not give up any secrets and was executed in September 1944. She received the George Cross from Britain and theCroix de Guerrefrom France. She was one of only three women in the SOE to be awarded the George Cross.Lest We Forget.
