Despite the cost of living crisis, the demand for music festival tickets bucks the trend and has seen the hottest tickets eagerly snapped up for this summer's events. #Glastonbury23, this weekend, being the perfect example. It's estimated that more than 5 million people attend music festivals in the UK each year. For event organisers, there's a balance to be struck between creating a party atmosphere and a duty to protect the safety of revellers. Our #Claw drop-and-go #HVM barrier is a great solution for managing crowds and protecting entry points from unauthorised vehicles. This versatile system can even be customised with branding or wayfinding - delivering on security, while adding to the festival vibe.#festivals #summerfestivals #musicfestivals #foodfestivals #festivalsecurity #eventsecurity #HVM #hostilevehiclemitigation #highwaycare

After three festival seasons that were either severely subdued or practically non-existent due to Covid-19, 2023 is shaping up to be the long-awaited return-to-normal, as music lovers are enjoying the most carefree summer since 2019 and organizers are desperate to make up for lost time.According to estimates from Statista Market Insights, the entire music event industry, including festivals and concerts but also musicals and operas, is expected to return to its pre-pandemic growth trajectory this year. Statista expects online ticket sales for music-related events to reach $33.8 billion this year, up 65 percent from 2022 and 49 percent from 2019, the last pre-pandemic year.

How a Music Festival Was Saved From the Mud: The Story Behind the Success: Torrential rain in the days leading up to #LollapaloozaArgentina had turned the #HipódromodeSanIsidro field into a mud pit. Trucks carrying band equipment got stuck, hindering access to the venue and threatening to cancel the show, challenging the event's logistics.**Time was running out, and everything had to be in place and in perfect condition for the festival.** While some trucks, their wheels stuck in the mud, couldn't move, the #WaiverLogísticateam, with their characteristic #experienceandingenuity, improvised a system of levers using wood and other available resources. Gradually, with the skill and effort of the operators, the trucks were pulled out of the mud, successfully overcoming this challenge.**Once again, Waiver Logística's story at Lollapalooza demonstrates their ability to adapt to the most difficult situations and their commitment to #excellence.** This makes them an indispensable ally for any event.**The next time you attend a festival, remember that behind the spectacle there is a team of silent heroes working to keep the music playing.****When it comes to facing any challenge to achieve flawless logistical execution, Waiver Logística's #experienceandappliedknowledge, demonstrated in major music events, are the calling card that guarantees #perfectlogisticalexecution, no matter if it rains, there is mud or thunder.** We deliver, no matter the circ*mstances. I don't want to go on an anti-Barcelona rant, but a very good reason why some festivals and bands should come here to Valencia instead of Barcelona is, well BCN is just inundated. After looking at options for Primavera Sound, I bought a ticket for Madrid because: 1. Cheaper transit/train options 2. The prices for the days of Primavera went from €98 to under 200 for a hotel, to 2000 for the days of the festival. We applied for a festival that we had done a few times and (got rejected this year) but I have no idea how we would have afforded the stay! Even several years ago, the accommodation was 3-500 for 4 days, but it has jumped to 1500 euros or more! I call this robbery. 3. Combos. For Madrid, there was the option to buy a train ticket, accommodation, and a ticket, which was not offered for Barcelona. 4. The downer is that discounts were offered for Madrid residents and young people only. It would be nice if a discount were offered for all Spanish residents and those on paro. Also, why no Primavera Sound Valencia?? Surely we could accommodate a smaller version such as there is in Porto. We need another draw that isn't fallas, and a festival that is broader, not just for people who listen to Spanish music from the 90's or regaeton. #festivales #fesitvals #primaverasound #music #madrid #valencia

ICYMI - we launched Five Percent for Festivals at this years Festival Congress.The5% For Festivalscampaign is an awareness campaign that seeks to inform festival-goers about the problems that music festival promoters have faced over the last 5 years, encouraging them to contact their MPs to lobby for a much needed VAT reduction on tickets.AIF CEO John Rostron said: “We really are at a critical point for the UK’s festival sector. Five years ago, it would have been impossible to imagine that promoters would have to endure something as damaging as the Covid-19 pandemic – but many of them did, without passing the inevitable cost onto the consumer. To think that, since then, they have had to manage the effects of Brexit, war in Ukraine, inflation and an energy crisis is staggering. That festival-goers were able to enjoy some of the fantastic events they did in 2023 is testament to the resilience and passion of those promoters. But we lost 36 festivals last year, and with six festivals having postponed activity in 2024 or closed the gates for good, we are on track to see well over double the number of casualties this year.“UK festivals need time to recover and rebuild. They need help from our Government. A reduction in VAT on festival tickets from 20% to 5% for three years is an evidence-based, simple, sensible remedy that would ease the financial burden on promoters enough for them to return to health. We need this action now.”Visit the website: https://lnkd.in/ebQ87_Mf
