After defining your objectives, the next step is to implement a robust tracking and measurement system. TikTok offers various tools and features, such as the Pixel and conversion tracking. Setting up the TikTok Pixel on your website allows you to track actions taken by users, providing insights into conversion rates, time spent on the website, and the effectiveness of your ad creative and targeting. Additionally, utilizing UTM parameters for your campaigns can further enhance tracking capabilities by providing detailed information on traffic sources and user behavior. Accurate setup of these tools is essential for gathering actionable data, optimizing your campaigns, and achieving a higher return on investment.

Make 100% sure you have CAPI installed for TikTok, and your using shorter attribution windows. TikTok likes to default to 28 day conversion windows, which is helpful for customer journey mapping, but it doesn't tell you what the direct revenue driven by TikTok is. 3rd party analytics helps here big time as well, so make sure your getting reliable date

It is crucial to ensure the KPIs for any TikTok campaigns are measured in accordance and in relevance to the the set objectives for the campaign.Since the algorithm optimises based of campaign objectives as well, looking at irrelevant metrics for a certain objectives such as looking at ROAS or video views for an awareness and reach campaign sn't the best way to track and optimize a campaign on. Instead relevant metrics here would be Reach levels, Impressions and CPM.

The best practice is simply to make sure you are achieving your relevant KPIs. For example, if your campaign was for increasing reach or video views then focus on the CPM, the 2-second video views or the cost per view that you have acquired. If the objective of your campaign is traffic, then you should be focused on the CTR and CPC and so on.

TikTok has tremendous reach with a particular segment of the total addressable market. It is important to consider TikTok as a channel where your brand message will reach a particular demographic. If your target audience is not on TikTok (do market research for that) then no matter what amount of money you spend on it, you message will not reach its intended target.
