Plans and implements direct and indirect care to patients of all ages in the Operating Room. Prepares and maintains aseptic surgical procedures performed in surgery, functioning in a scrub role and part of the OR team. Process contaminated surgical instruments through the cleaning, sterilization and re-setting the surgical trays using via to established guidelines, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate, CST preferred
  • 3-5 years similar experience in an ASC intraoperative setting, orthopedic/spine experience preferred
  • BLS
  • Ability to make sound, reasonable decisions
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptiveness to change
  • Ability to identify and calmly handle inherently stressful situations with tact
  • Highly organized with ability to concentrate on many detailed requests
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with physicians, hospital partners and ASC staff
  • Maintains regular attendance
